Heather Tick M.A., M.D. is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona Department of Family and Community Medicine and director of an Integrative Pain Clinic with the department. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and co-founder and present director of The RSI Clinic in Toronto: an Integrative Pain Treatment Centre (Toronto). She has treated thousands of patients with Repetitive Strain Injuries and other myofascial disorders using complementary and alternative techniques integrated with conventional medicine. She is a practitioner and an instructor of Intramuscular Stimulation, an acupuncture technique that effectively treats myofascial injuries. She has used lasers in her practice since 1993. She is a frequent presenter on the topic of RSI and workplace safety, and healthy aging medicine. She is also involved in research projects with the University of Waterloo, the University of Arizona and CMCC. She has written a book on the integrative treatment of chronic pain: Life Beyond the Carpal Tunnel: from pain to healing.
