In 2005 I was diagnosed with cancer and the reality of having been a successful actor earning a 6-figure income was over. Struggling in debt, my husband and I reevaluated our lives and saw the need to make positive changes to two sides of our future, both in health and in wealth.

Degenerative diseases have affects all of our lives in one-way or another.  We all know someone who has been struck by one.

When I was 13 I remember heaving over in pain not knowing what was happening.  It turns out I had cancer and I was rushed to surgery.  They gave me chemo and I went into remission but what they didn’t know is that that same chemo could also cause leukemia.  And that’s what happened.  At the age of 16, I was going through full body radiation and the strongest chemotherapy one could receive to get me ready for a bone marrow transplant.  That transplant was successful, but it also destroyed my body in so many ways.  My life felt like it was over.  For the next 11 years fatigue controlled my life.  It was so bad that there were months I couldn’t get out of bed.  I was so blessed to have parents that could not watch their little girl suffer.  My whole life revolved around seeing doctors and trying alternative therapies.  You name it, I did it. And although some things helped for a little while, nothing ever stuck.

At the age of 27 I was enjoying a six figure-acting career, an awesome marriage…life was pretty good.  My world was rocked when I was diagnosed with a third cancer; I lost a third of my tongue and forty lymph nodes from my neck.  (And my six figure acting career!) I had to go through another period of treatment. I was so thankful that just months before my girlfriend finally convinced me after 2 years to try Usana.
