After working hard at their USANA business for over 12 years, Pete and Dora Zdanis have really adjusted to living their lives by their own rules.
At home in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, the couple spends time playing golf and
are looking forward to snow so Dora can teach Pete how to cross-country ski.
“Our lifestyle is changing since we’re both very involved with RESET,” Dora says. “We have committed to a healthier lifestyle, which not only includes changing our eating habits, but increasing our activities.”
The Zdanises also have time to give back to the community and are always looking for ways to contribute to the well-being of others. Their church family is very important to them, and they volunteer to help whenever needed. They have donated food to their church pantry and contributed Thanksgiving dinners for the needy families in their community. In addition, they faithfully support the Children’s Hunger Fund and the Red Cross with monetary contributions.
A passion that the twosome mutually shares is their love of auto racing. Pete and Dora each enjoyed the sport long before even meeting each other. “One of our first dates was at the Indianapolis 500 in 1991,” Pete joyfully recalls. “Auto racing was one of the commonalties we had when we were getting to know each other.” Traveling to Indianapolis is now a family tradition, as Dora’s daughter, Kim, son-in-law, Dan, and grandchildren join them each year in May for the race. Pete and Dora also loyally attend the NASCAR Daytona 500 season opener annually.
Having perfected the balance between work and play, the Zdanises also devote a fair share of their time to travel. “We like to travel and see different places,” Pete says. “We have the good fortune to be able to travel as a part of our USANA business to conduct trainings and participate in various USANA functions across North America. After attending the annual USANA International Convention, we always take a short vacation to relax and formulate new business strategies for the coming year.”
Despite being two of the most recognized Associates in the USANA family and members of the illustrious Fortune 25, perhaps the most important role Pete and Dora play is that of grandparents—family is their number one priority. “We enjoy spending time with our grandchildren, Abby, Ryan, Gibson, and Chesney.” Dora says, “We make frequent trips to Michigan for family events where both Pete and I are originally from and where many of our family members still reside.”
For Associates who want their USANA business to provide the same time freedom the Zdanises enjoy, Pete offers this advice: “First, identify your ‘why’ for building a USANA business. Define and write down your goals. And be persistent and consistent in following the steps outlined in the USANA BDS. One of the biggest mistakes people make with their business is trying to re-create the wheel. They make this business so much more complicated than it needs to be.”
Because of increasing competition, Pete and Dora know that it gets harder and harder every year to earn a position in the USANA Fortune 25. Fortunately, their simple, yet focused, approach to building their business and continuous team member trainings solidify their plan to maintain their place in the renowned organization for many years to come.
