Tim Wood received his bachelor's degree in environmental biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He then went on to receive a master's degree and a Ph.D. in the biological sciences from Yale University. Most recently, he received a master of business administration from Westminster College in Salt Lake City.

Prior to joining USANA, Tim served as vice president of research and development (R&D) for AgriDyne Technologies, Inc. (formerly NPI). In 1996, he joined USANA's management team as director of R&D before being promoted to vice president of R&D in 1998.

In his current position as executive vice president of R&D, Tim leads USANA's scientific team. In this position, he coordinates three of the company's technical functions: research and development, quality assurance and quality control, and international regulatory affairs.
