Job Description: Assist with desktop support when needed. Support all Server Windows operating systems, Windows AD networking, account creation, administration/maintenance of production systems, fault resolution, capacity planning, security, documentation, and root cause analysis. Responsible for supporting Windows based applications required for corporate IT functioning (Exchange, IIS, WSUS, Citrix, etc), Active Directory planning and maintenance, disaster recovery planning and implementation, specialized scripting, DBMS, performance monitoring and reporting, and system architecture. Additionally, Enterprise System duties that fall outside of the Windows platform will be encountered on a frequent basis. On-call rotation will be required.
Duties/Responsibilities: Essential • Build, install, configure, maintain and support desktop and server hardware, create/manage/remove AD accounts, support desktop applications, local and network security, and patch management, etc. • Experience in AD management and maintenance including design, deployment, DR practices, domain administration, etc. • Design, manage and maintain AD in cooperation with the Network Engineers • Provide reporting and performance information to management • Advanced admin scripting (WMI, VBS, system batch files, etc) • Manage and maintain corporate Exchange system, IIS, Terminal Services, FTP, DNS, DHCP, etc. • Provide LAN/WAN related technical support both locally and at remote locations. • Assist remote locations with onsite windows systems implementation, and maintenance. • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis as assigned. • Recommend and price hardware/software as requested. Assist with purchasing. • Provide telecom systems and user support as needed. • Create and/or update systems documentation, SOPs, etc.
Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in related field required. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • A+ and Network+ computer certification preferred • Must have minimum of 3 years experience as a Windows Administrator 2 or equivalent. • MCTS Windows Server 2008 certification required. MCTS Windows 7 certification required. MCITP:Enterprise Administrator certification preferred. • Working knowledge of cabling, servers, PCs, hubs, TCP/IP, MS terminal server, corporate email systems, and DNS/DHCP/WINS. • Willingness to be on call and travel. • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all essential position duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.
